El águila devorando una serpiente, mito

The Aztecs, guided by the prophecies of Huitzilopochtli (the god of the sun and war), built Tenochtitlan, on an island in a lake. This illustration depicts the founding of Tenochtitlan (present-day Mexico City). An eagle perched on a flowering nopal (prickly pear) cactus, is shown devouring a snake.

Frida's  and Diego's kitchen

Frida Kahlo, wife of Muralist Diego Rivera, was a renowned Mexican artist. Her self-portraits were painted during the time she was in a full body cast after a bizarre automotive accident in which she was severely injured.

The house  where Frida and Diego lived  from 1929 to 1954 is located in Coyoacán, Mexico.  These pictures were taken by Blanca Hernández during a visit to Mexico .
